2025 PROGRAM

The Historical Committee is responsible for researching and obtaining historical records of Fairmont Heights High School (FHHS) and the organization.  We meet via ZOOM on the 1st Wednesday of each month and report our findings to the Executive Committee and the General Alumni body at the Monthly Meetings held at the Cedar Heights Community Center.

Key Activities we are currently engaged in:

  • Monitoring the Transfer of the old Historical FHHS building from the Prince George’s County Board of Education to the Prince George’s County Government, Park and Planning.
  •  Assisting with planning the Reuse of the Historic FHHS building once the transfer has been completed.
  • Contacting Alumni to identify and collect documents, items, and historical memorabilia that may be archived and included in the Official Historical School record and future museum.
  • Developing a Documentary to tell our story about FHHS’ Role in the Modernization of Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
